Writer for Superheroes: South of the River

Oladipo is a playwright and playwriting tutor. He has been writing professionally for over ten years. He has written several main stage plays including, Early Morning, Mother Courage and Her Children, The Estate, For One Night Only, The Hounding of David Oluwale, Iya-Ile – The First Wife, (winner of the Alfred Fagon award and nominated for an Olivier Award 2009) and Threshold.

 Oladipo has run several writing workshops for various organisations such as Spread the Word, Soho Theatre Young Writers , New Wolsey Theatre, Nos Do Morro in Brazil, Beeta Universal/I-Skills in Nigeria, and for the Oyun Yaz International Theatre Festival in Turkey.

Oladipo has worked with many organisations that specialise in theatre for young audiences, including Theatre Centre for whom he wrote 2 plays: God is a DJ and Knock Against My Heart, and for the Unicorn Theatre for whom he wrote The Dream Collector, and adapted The Garbage King. He has run writing workshops for both companies for young writers, and has also run workshops on writing for young audiences for Tutti Frutti, Manchester Royal Exchange and Hampstead Theatre.

He is currently working on a commission for The Drum in Plymouth’s Youth Theatre Company. He is also a tutor in the Theatre and Performance Department of Goldsmiths College, and a visiting lecturer, teaching Dramatic Writing on the MA writing course at City University.
Oladipo is also a board member for Soho Theatre and Ovalhouse Theatre. He enjoys travelling, reading novels and comics, and supports Arsenal football club.
