Christopher is a graduate of Massey University (New Zealand) and trained as an actor in London in the early 80’s. He developed an interest in New Writing and the classics, performing, directing and producing. He co-founded an actors’ co-operative agency, devising systems and strategies to help actors into employment. He co-created the New Playwrights’ Trust project Script Forum, a workshop facility for new and emerging writers. He was Education Director to the London New Play Festival, creating a writing school, organising discussions, and directing plays and readings. He then co-founded Maya Productions with the aim to encourage writers from diverse ethnic backgrounds. He is a founding trustee (Vice Chair) of Hackney’s Immediate Theatre and a Trustee of the experimental company Fragments & Monuments.
He has worked as an independent Dramaturg and for Maya Productions has taught, developed and produced new writing over a 20 year period. He produced the Hackney Word Festival; Write to Ignite 2008-10.
He is now a trustee for Maya Productions and concentrates on his own writing.
