Ferry Van Dijk
Trustee

Ferry Van Dijk
– Cultural, health and wellbeing consultant
Ferry worked over 25 years for Shell in various techno-commercial roles in Manufacturing, new business development as well as supply chain management for capital projects. After having started out as a chemical engineer in Moerdijk, The Netherlands, he moved in 1997 to London where he is still based.
In 2018, he concluded a second postgraduate course in ‘Arts and Cultural Enterprise’ at Central Saint Martins (UAL) with a dissertation focusing on social impact through cultural activities in an urban regeneration context. This course greatly advanced his understanding of business models and (social) entrepreneurial approaches in the sector. It also awakened a keen desire to apply his business skills to further the role of arts, creativity, and culture in affecting change in individuals as well as in communities.
His key areas of interest include the interface between culture, health and wellbeing and social prescribing, as well as place-making.
Ferry is a fellow of the RSA, the royal society for arts, manufactures and commerce (FRSA) also has 18 years of trustee experience at London-based arts organisations (Hoxton Hall and Forma Arts & Media). As a Trustee of Maya Productions he is keen to further develop his ‘cultural governance practice’ to focus on creating social impact.
