Actor & storyteller based in London. Born in Chittagong, Bangladesh he came to UK with his parents. Trained with Tara, Little Angel Theatre, Man Mela and Mukul and Ghetto Tigers. He acts, produces, writes stories and short plays and works in theatre, film and tv in UK and abroad. He has dedicated much of his work with local communities, young people and families to support literacy, language and well being.
Productions include Government Inspector (Tara), Hayavadana (Tara), Londonee (MGT), Debdas (MGT), Romeo & Juliet (MGT, UK & Jadapur), Gauhar Jaan Datia Incident, East is East (ATG), Oslo (National Theatre, West End run), Kiteruner the play (Nottingham Playhouse, UK & Eire tour). Films include Shongram (Munsur Ali); The Infiltrator (Brad Furman), Suri Nagar (M. Kibriyah). Zohra (K.Akhtar), Unintentionalhell (B.Bahi, Rez won best actor in Kolkata and Tagore Film Festival playing Manik). Film to be released 2022 Banglatown (IMotion Films).
He is also Artistic Director of Tamarind Theatre Co based in Whitechapel, London supporting participation in arts for all communities and mentoring. He has written and staged The Legend of Black Lotus, Umrao Jaan Circle of Light and The Two Headed Bird.
