Are you a 12-17 year old with South Asian/ Global majority heritage? Are you excited about telling stories using drama and visual art?
Routes to Roots is a partnership between Belgrade Theatre and Maya Productions.
This participation project is inspired by our new musical, Benny and the Greycats, which tells the story of a family of Anglo-Indian musicians who swap playing in a swing band in South India, for a new life in 1960s Sheffield.
Over 7 weeks you will be invited to explore stories about family, home and migration and develop your own creative response building creative skills, exploring journeys of migration, sharing music, and telling stories using multiple artforms.
The free sessions will run across 7 weekly sessions on Mondays from 6.30 – 8.30pm beginning 26 September (no session on 24 Oct) until 21 November where there will be a sharing for family and friends. Please see our most recent Routes to Roots highlight video here.

If you are a brand-new booker, and have not taken part in any of Belgrade Theatres summer, acting class workshops or youth theatres before. Please follow the below link to register the participant for the class.
Please note: You must fill out this form with the name of the young person attending the classes and NOT the booking name (if different). Further, each participant should be set up with a unique e-mail address, you cannot register two participants using the same e-mail address.
