Workshop on the horizon

Workshop on the horizon 150 150 MAYA Productions

Amazing weekend. The Kickstarter is finished and we raised over £600 on the last day, which was absolutely brilliant. We almost doubled our target which is absolutely amazing, but don’t worry all the money will go to good use. As we can now film and edit the workshop week and performance and have all the equipment we need for the workshop week to explore the music and graffiti elements properly. The Kickstarter was really tiring and I had to message lots of people about it, but it was a great excuse for me to reconnect with lots of my fans and I hope I didn’t annoy too many people with my constant Facebook updates. I would also like to give a special mention to 100 Black Men whose President gave a very generous donation indeed. I have done lots of work with them in the past and I think they are a very worthwhile organisation as they offer Saturday schools for Black kids to go to and learn about their culture and history and things that often get neglected in mainstream schools. They even get a little mention in my play script.

Today Supreme.Frost landed from Hamburg and after grabbing a quick power nap we both headed to Hackney to perform our set for the Heart of Hackney Festival with a special guest appearance with reggae artist SteFyah. It was a lovely sunny day and the set was as nice as the weather. Am absolutely knackered now and am going to go to bed so as to be fresh for the workshop week which starts tomorrow. It’s been hard work, but everything is in place now and now the art part begins.
